SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
DESCRIPTION:
Product Type:XINSEN-SD
Features:
This premium spiral wound gasket is designed with a robust outer and inner ring. The inner ring, crafted for enhanced performance, serves to accurately center the gasket on the flange face, thereby preventing the gasket from collapsing into the pipe during installation. It also safeguards the sealing element from extreme temperatures and aggressive mediums, while filling the void between flanges to prevent erosion and reduce failure risks. Typically, this ring is made from the same alloy as the winding, adhering to the German DIN 2699 standard which mandates inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, inner rings are required by ASME B16.20 standards and are deemed crucial for graphite fillers as well. This profile is generally utilized in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring not only offers extra radial strength to prevent blowout but also acts as a compression stop. Often made of carbon steel (either painted or zinc-plated for corrosion resistance), the outer ring can also be constructed from alloys to withstand higher temperatures and more severe medium applications.
