The added inner ring is meticulously designed to amplify performance, ensuring the gasket remains steadfastly in place on the flange face. This innovation not only fortifies the gasket against potential implosion into the pipe during installation but also safeguards the sealing integrity from extreme temperatures and mediums. By filling the void between flanges, it effectively prevents flange erosion and reduces failure risks. The inner ring, typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, adheres to DIN 2699 standards (German) and is essential for gaskets with PTFE fillers per ASME B16.20 standards. It's highly recommended for those with graphite fillers, making it ideal for raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring adds further radial strength, preventing blowouts and serving as a compression stop.
