DOUBLE JACKETED GASKET
Metal jacketed gaskets are ingeniously crafted, featuring a robust metallic exterior that encases a flexible filler material. This design ensures the gaskets are well-protected against pressure, temperature fluctuations, and corrosive elements. Each gasket is meticulously hand-made, available in a plethora of shapes and sizes, with a diverse selection of metals and fillers to choose from. The option for internal ribs of any configuration further enhances their versatility. Particularly prevalent in heat exchanger applications, these gaskets require precise flange surfaces and substantial bolt loads to achieve optimal sealing.
Single jacketed gaskets are designed with a single surface, where both the outer diameter (OD) and inner diameter (ID) are enveloped by a sturdy metal jacket. This type is ideal for applications involving narrow flange widths in low-pressure valves and pumps.
Double jacketed gaskets are enveloped in a robust two-piece metal jacket, covering the OD, ID, and both sealing surfaces completely. They are extensively utilized in heat exchanger settings and are adept for handling corrosive environments and high-temperature conditions.
Internal ribs, or pass partition bars, can be either integral or welded. In both scenarios, they ensure that the primary seal remains intact and secure.
APPLICATION
> Ideal for Heat Exchangers
> Suitable for Gas Mains
> Effective in Boiler and Fumes
> Perfect for Pumps.
> Reliable for Valve Bonnets
Gaskets with simple configurations are perfect for pipeline flanges and the sealing surfaces of internal-combustion engines, while those with complex shapes are well-suited for the flange covers of heat exchangers. Standard gaskets typically feature a width ranging from 10-25 MM and a thickness of 2MM-8MM, capable of enduring maximum working pressures of 6-10Mpa.
Jackets are crafted from a variety of metals including Soft Iron, Low Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Nickel, Copper, Aluminium, Brass, Titanium, Monel, etc.
Filler materials include options like Expanded Graphite, Ceramic, PTFE, etc.
The thickness tolerance for these gaskets is precisely maintained at (+0.03 inch, -0.000 inch) or (+0.8mm, -0.0mm).
(1). For gaskets ranging from NPS 1/2 through NPS 24, the outer and inner diameter tolerances are set at +0.06 inch, -0.0 inch (+1.5mm, -0.0mm);
(2). Note: There are no Class 400 flanges available for NPS 1/2 through NPS 3; instead, utilize Class 600.
(3). Please be aware that there are no Class 600 flanges for NPS 1/2 through NPS 2-1/2; use Class 1500 as an alternative.
(4). Importantly, there are no Class 2500 NPS 14 and larger flanges available.
