This premium spiral wound gasket is engineered with a solid outer and inner ring for exceptional performance. A robust inner ring is incorporated to enhance the gasket's durability and effectiveness. The external guide ring ensures precise centering on the flange face, enhancing the installation process. The inner ring prevents gasket collapse into the pipe, shields the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh media, fills the void between flanges to avert erosion, and minimizes failure risks. Typically made from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring meets the stringent DIN 2699 standards for all spiral wound gaskets and complies with ASME B16.20 standards for PTFE fillers. This design is particularly suitable for use with raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring adds additional radial strength to prevent blowout and acts as a compression stop. Often crafted from carbon steel, painted or zinc-plated to resist corrosion, the outer ring can also be made of specialized alloys for high-temperature and severe medium applications.
