The innovative external guide ring ensures the gasket is perfectly centered on the flange face. The inner ring serves multiple crucial functions: it prevents the gasket from imploding into the pipe during installation, safeguards the sealing element against extreme temperatures and harsh media, fills gaps between flanges, thus preventing flange erosion, and minimizes the risk of failure. Constructed typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with DIN 2699 standards for spiral wound gaskets, and is obligatory for gaskets with PTFE filler as per ASME B16.20 standards.
