Typically crafted from the same high-grade alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the stringent DIN 2699 standard, mandating its presence in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, the ASME B16.20 standards require inner rings, recognizing their importance for graphite fillers as well.
