To further elevate its performance, an inner ring has been meticulously inserted. This enhancement is pivotal in ensuring the gasket remains steadfast during installation by thwarting any implosion into the pipe. Moreover, it safeguards the sealing element against the rigors of extreme temperatures and harsh mediums, while efficiently filling the void between flanges to mitigate erosion risks. The highly durable inner ring, typically crafted from the same premium alloy as the winding, is in strict accordance with the DIN 2699 standard, which mandates inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, the ASME B16.20 standards necessitate inner rings, a critical consideration also for graphite fillers. Ideally suited for raised and flat-faced flanges, this profile ensures seamless fitting and function. The external guide ring not only precisely centers the gasket on the flange face but also imparts additional radial strength, fortifying it against gasket blowout and serving as a compression stop.
