An expertly inserted inner ring significantly enhances performance by preventing any implosion during installation. It safeguards the sealing element against extreme temperatures and mediums, filling the void between flanges to avert erosion and reduce failure risks. Crafted typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with DIN 2699 standards for all spiral wound gaskets and adheres to ASME B16.20 standards for PTFE filler gaskets, making it essential for graphite fillers. Ideal for raised and flat-faced flanges, our gasket's external guide ring provides exceptional radial strength, preventing blowouts and acting as a compression stop. Usually constructed from painted or zinc-plated carbon steel to avoid corrosion, this external ring can also be made from alloys suitable for higher temperature and severe medium applications, providing the ultimate in durability and reliability.
