For superior gasket performance, an inner ring is strategically included to enhance stability and prevent implosion into the pipe during installation. This inner ring not only offers protection against extreme temperatures and harsh mediums but also fills the gap between flanges, ensuring zero erosion and minimizing failure risks. Complying with the DIN 2699 standard, it is crafted from the same durable alloy as the winding. In adherence to ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are mandatory with PTFE fillers and are vital for those with graphite fillers. Ideally suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges, this design includes an external guide ring that ensures accurate flange centering. Furthermore, the outer ring, typically constructed from corrosion-resistant carbon steel and optionally zinc-plated, acts as a compression stop, providing additional radial strength to prevent blowouts.
