SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
INTRODUCTION:
Product Category:XINSEN-SD
Key Highlights:
Our spiral wound gasket is engineered with a robust outer and inner ring. Notably, an inner ring has been carefully integrated to amplify the gasket's performance, ensuring precise centering on the flange face with an external guide ring. This inner ring is meticulously crafted to avert the implosion risk into the pipe during installation, safeguarding the sealing element against extreme conditions and mediums, filling voids to prevent flange erosion, and minimizing the failure risk. Typically constructed from the same alloy as the winding, the DIN 2699 standard (German) mandates inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. According to ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are essential for PTFE fillers and crucial for graphite fillers. This design is predominantly applied in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring augments radial strength to guard against gasket blowout and serves as a compression limiter. Frequently composed of carbon steel (either painted or zinc-plated to resist corrosion), it can also be made from alloys to endure higher temperatures and tougher mediums.
