This prevents the gasket from collapsing into the pipe, ensuring a superior seal against extreme temperatures and aggressive mediums. It acts as a safeguard, filling voids between flanges to ward off erosion, while significantly reducing the risk of failure. Constructed typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the DIN 2699 standards, with ASME B16.20 standards mandating it for PTFE fillers and recommending it for graphite. This design is optimally suited for raised and flat-faced flanges. Complementing this, the external guide ring delivers extraordinary radial strength, preventing blowouts and serving as a precision compression limiter.
