In line with the stringent DIN 2699 standards, this inner ring is a requisite in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets featuring PTFE fillers, ASME B16.20 standards mandate the inclusion of inner rings, a necessity also recognized for graphite fillers. Ideal for raised and flat-faced flanges, the external guide ring provides precise centering on the flange face while delivering enhanced radial strength to prevent blowout, serving as a dependable compression stop.
