Engineered from a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, PTFE gaskets are composed entirely of carbon and fluorine. These naturally hydrophobic gaskets repel water and water-based substances with ease, and are renowned for having one of the lowest solid-state coefficients of friction.
