SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
Product Type: XINSEN-SD
Features:
This exceptional spiral wound gasket is engineered with a robust outer and inner ring. The inclusion of an inner ring significantly enhances the gasket's performance and ensures precise alignment on the flange face through an external guide ring. The inner ring serves a critical function by preventing potential implosion of the gasket into the pipe during installation. It acts as a safeguard for the sealing element against extreme temperatures and harsh mediums, fills the void between flanges to avert flange erosion, and diminishes the likelihood of failure. Typically, the inner ring is crafted from the same high-quality alloy as the winding. As per the stringent DIN 2699 standard (German), all spiral wound gaskets must incorporate inner rings. For gaskets with PTFE filler, ASME B16.20 standards stipulate the necessity of inner rings, which are also deemed essential for graphite fillers. This versatile profile is ideally suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges. Furthermore, the external ring enhances radial strength to prevent gasket blowout and functions as a compression stop. This profile is predominantly utilized in flanges with raised and flat faces. Often constructed of carbon steel, which may be painted or zinc-plated to prevent corrosion, the outer ring can also be manufactured from alloys to withstand higher temperatures and more demanding mediums.
