SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
DESCRIPTION:
Product Type:XINSEN-SD
Features:
Crafted for excellence, this spiral wound gasket features a robust design with both solid outer and inner rings. An ingeniously inserted inner ring boosts gasket performance, while an external guide ring ensures precise centering on the flange face. The inner ring, crafted from the same alloy as the winding, is essential for avoiding gasket implosion during installation, safeguarding the sealing element from extreme conditions and media, filling the void between flanges to avert flange erosion, and minimizing failure risks. As per DIN 2699 standards (German), inner rings are mandatory for all spiral wound gaskets, and according to ASME B16.20 standards, they are crucial for gaskets with PTFE fillers and significant for those with graphite fillers. This configuration is ideal for use in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring serves as a compression stop and provides extra radial strength to avert blowouts. Typically crafted from carbon steel (painted or zinc-plated to prevent corrosion), the outer ring can also be made of alloys to endure higher temperatures and more challenging media.
