The external guide ring ensures precision by accurately centering the gasket on the flange face, thus preventing potential implosion into the pipe during installation. This ingenious design protects the sealing element from harsh temperatures and challenging mediums, effortlessly filling flange voids to thwart erosion and mitigate failure risks. Crafted typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with the DIN 2699 standard (German) demanding inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. Notably, inner rings are vital for gaskets with PTFE filler as per ASME B16.20 standards and are considerably beneficial for graphite fillers. Such profiles are ideally suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges.
