Crafted usually from the same high-quality alloy as the winding, the inner ring meets the stringent DIN 2699 standard, which mandates its inclusion in all spiral wound gaskets. According to ASME B16.20 standards, this inner ring is a requisite for gaskets with PTFE filler, and is highly recommended for those with graphite fillers.
