DOUBLE JACKETED GASKET
Metal jacketed gaskets are meticulously crafted from a slender metallic shell that cradles an adaptable filler material within. The robust metal encasement shields the filler from pressure, temperature, and corrosive elements. These gaskets, handcrafted to perfection, offer versatility in various shapes and sizes, with a diverse selection of metals and fillers to choose from. Custom internal ribs are available to suit any configuration. Ideal for heat exchanger applications, they demand impeccable flange surfaces and high bolt loads to ensure a flawless seal.
Single jacketed gaskets feature a single surface with both the outer and inner diameters enveloped by the metal jacket, making them ideal for narrow flange widths in low-pressure valve and pump applications.
Double jacketed gaskets provide complete enclosure with a dual-layer metal jacket that covers the outer diameter, inner diameter, and both sealing surfaces. They are extensively utilized in heat exchanger settings and are well-suited for corrosive and high-temperature conditions.
Internal ribs, or pass partition bars, can be either integrated or welded, ensuring the primary seal is securely maintained in both designs.
APPLICATION
> Heat exchangers
> Gas mains
> Boilers and flues
> Pumps
> Valve bonnets
Gaskets with simple geometries are employed in pipeline flanges and the sealing surfaces of internal-combustion engines, while those with complex configurations are used in flange covers of heat exchangers, etc. Typically, these gaskets are 10-25 MM in width and 2MM-8MM in thickness, capable of withstanding a maximum working pressure range of 6-10Mpa.
Jackets: Available materials include soft iron, low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel, copper, aluminum, brass, titanium, monel, and more.
Filler: Options include expanded graphite, ceramic, PTFE, among others.
The gasket thickness tolerance is precisely set at (+0.03 inch, -0.000 inch) or (+0.8mm, -0.0mm).
(1). For gaskets from NPS 1/2 to NPS 24, the outside and inside diameter tolerances are established at +0.06 inch, -0.0 inch or (+1.5mm, -0.0mm).
(2). Note: There are no Class 400 flanges available for NPS 1/2 through NPS 3; instead, use Class 600.
(3). Be aware that there are no Class 600 flanges for NPS 1/2 through NPS 2-1/2; use Class 1500 instead.
(4). Similarly, there are no Class 2500 flanges available for NPS 14 and larger sizes.
