This exceptional spiral wound gasket features a robust outer and inner ring, showcasing superior design and enhanced functionality. An inner ring has been meticulously inserted to elevate gasket performance, precisely centering it on the flange face with an external guide ring. This strategic addition of the inner ring is to avert the risk of the gasket collapsing into the pipe during installation, safeguard the sealing element from extreme conditions, fill voids between flanges to prevent erosion, and significantly diminish the likelihood of failure. Typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring aligns with the DIN 2699 German standard and is mandated in all spiral wound gaskets. Essential for gaskets with PTFE filler per ASME B16.20 standards, the inner ring is also crucial for graphite fillers. This configuration is predominantly utilized in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring offers additional radial strength, effectively preventing gasket blowout and serving as a compression stop.
