The inner ring is meticulously designed to avert gasket implosion during installation, shielding the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh mediums. It impeccably fills the void between flanges to prevent erosion and significantly lowers failure risk. Typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with DIN 2699 (German) standards mandating inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets.
