This strategic inner ring placement is essential to prevent gasket implosion into the pipe during installation, protects the sealing element from extreme conditions, fills voids between flanges to avert flange erosion, and reduces potential failure risks. The inner ring matches the alloy of the winding for seamless integration. Adhering to the stringent DIN 2699 standard, and ASME B16.20 standards for PTFE fillers, this component excels in reliability and durability, especially with graphite fillers. Designed specifically for raised and flat faced flanges, the external ring offers additional radial strength, preventing blowouts while acting as a reliable compression stop. Typically crafted from carbon steel and optionally painted or zinc-plated to resist corrosion, the outer ring can also be composed of specialized alloys for high-temperature and severe medium applications.
