This superior spiral wound gasket boasts a robust outer and inner ring, coupled with an additional inner ring to significantly enhance performance. The expertly inserted inner ring ensures the gasket remains intact during installation, shields the sealing element from extreme conditions, and mitigates flange erosion by filling the void between flanges. Specified by the DIN 2699 standard, inner rings are essential for all spiral wound gaskets, particularly those with PTFE fillers as per ASME B16.20 standards, and are highly recommended for graphite fillers. This gasket profile is optimized for both raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring is meticulously designed to enhance radial strength, prevent blowouts, and serve as a precise compression stop. Typically crafted from carbon steel, which is either painted or zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, the outer ring can also be customized with high-temperature alloys for more demanding applications.
