DOUBLE JACKETED GASKET
Our Metal Jacketed Gaskets are ingeniously crafted, featuring a thin, robust metallic outer layer that securely envelops a resilient filler material. This protective metal casing ensures the gaskets are steadfast against pressure, temperature fluctuations, and corrosive environments. As bespoke creations, these gaskets come in an array of shapes and sizes, with a variety of metals and fillers to choose from. Their internal ribs can be tailored to any configuration, making them indispensable in heat exchanger applications where a smooth, even flange surface and high bolt loads are crucial for achieving an impeccable seal.
Single jacketed gaskets are expertly designed with one side and both the outer and inner diameters sheathed in a metal jacket. They are ideal for applications involving narrow flange widths in low-pressure environments, such as valves and pumps.
Double jacketed gaskets are completely encased within a two-piece metal jacket that covers the outer and inner diameters as well as both sealing surfaces. These gaskets are perfect for use in heat exchanger applications and are particularly suitable for corrosive and high-temperature conditions.
Internal ribs, also known as pass partition bars, can be either integral or welded. In both configurations, the primary seal remains reliably intact.
APPLICATION
> Heat exchangers
> Gas mains
> Boiler and fues
> Pumps.
> Valve bonnets
Gaskets with simpler shapes are typically employed in pipeline flanges and the sealing surfaces of internal combustion engines. Meanwhile, those with more complex designs are used in the flanges of heat exchanger covers. These versatile gaskets generally range from 10-25 mm in width and 2-8 mm in thickness, capable of withstanding a maximum working pressure between 6-10 MPa.
Our jackets are available in a variety of materials including soft iron, low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel, copper, aluminium, brass, titanium, monel, and more, ensuring a perfect match for your specific requirements.
Filler materials include expanded graphite, ceramic, and PTFE, chosen for their superior performance attributes.
The precise gasket thickness tolerance is (+0.03 inch, -0.000 inch) or (+0.8mm, -0.0mm), ensuring optimal fit and performance.
(1). For gaskets NPS 1/2 through NPS 24, the tolerances for both the outside and inside diameters are meticulously maintained at +0.06 inch, -0.0 inch (+1.5mm, -0.0mm);
(2). There are no Class 400 flanges available for NPS 1/2 through NPS 3—Instead, use Class 600;
(3). For NPS 1/2 through NPS 2-1/2, Class 600 flanges do not exist—opt for Class 1500;
(4). Note that Class 2500 is not available for NPS 14 and larger.
