SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
Product Type: XINSEN-SD
Features:
This meticulously engineered spiral wound gasket is equipped with a robust solid outer and inner ring for superior stability. An inner ring enhancement is incorporated to significantly boost gasket performance, ensuring precise centering on the flange face through an external guide ring. The inner ring serves multiple protective functions: it prevents the gasket from collapsing into the pipe during installation, safeguards the sealing element against extreme temperatures and aggressive mediums, fills the void between flanges to avert flange erosion, and mitigates failure risks. Typically, the inner ring is crafted from the same high-grade alloy as the winding. Compliance with the DIN 2699 standard (German) necessitates inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, inner rings are mandated by ASME B16.20 standards, and they are deemed crucial for graphite fillers. This configuration is ideally suited for raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring provides added radial strength, preventing gasket blowout, and functions as a compression limiter. Often constructed from painted or zinc-plated carbon steel to resist corrosion, the outer ring can also be made from specialized alloys for high-temperature and severe medium applications.
