Crafted with precision, our spiral wound gasket features a robust outer and inner ring. To elevate gasket performance, we've incorporated an inner ring that not only enhances the sealing efficacy but also ensures accurate centering on the flange face. This inner ring safeguards the gasket from potential implosion into the pipe during installation, shields the sealing element from extreme conditions and media, fills voids between flanges to avert erosion, and significantly mitigates failure risks. Typically, the inner ring is fashioned from the same alloy as the winding. Complying with the DIN 2699 standard (German) and ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are mandatory for gaskets with PTFE fillers and critically important for graphite fillers. This profile is ideal for both raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring adds radial strength, prevents blowouts, and serves as a compression stop. For higher temperature and severe medium applications, the outer ring, usually made of carbon steel (either painted or zinc plated to resist corrosion), can be manufactured using specialized alloys.
