DOUBLE JACKETED GASKET
Crafted with precision and durability in mind, metal jacketed gaskets feature a thin, protective metallic outer shell that encases a robust filler material. This design ensures exceptional resistance to pressure, temperature, and corrosion, making them indispensable in demanding environments. Handcrafted and available in a variety of shapes and sizes, these gaskets offer a wide selection of metals and fillers to choose from, complete with customizable internal ribs to suit unique configurations. Primarily utilized in heat exchanger applications, they require uniform flange surfaces and high bolt loads for optimal sealing performance.
Single jacketed gaskets come with a metal jacket that covers one surface along with both the outer diameter (OD) and inner diameter (ID). These are ideal for narrow flange widths in low-pressure valve and pump applications, offering reliable sealing solutions.
Double jacketed gaskets are engineered with a two-piece metal jacket that comprehensively covers the OD, ID, and both sealing surfaces. These gaskets excel in heat exchanger applications and are well-suited for environments with corrosive substances and elevated temperatures.
Internal ribs, also known as pass partition bars, can be integrated or welded. In both designs, the primary seal is meticulously maintained to ensure dependable performance.
APPLICATION
> Designed for efficient use in heat exchangers
> Versatile for gas mains
> Essential for boiler and fuel systems
> Integral to pump operations
> Perfect for valve bonnets
Gaskets with simpler forms find applications in pipeline flange and internal-combustion machine sealing surfaces, while those with more complex shapes are tailored for heat exchanger flange covers. These gaskets typically measure 10-25 MM in width and 2-8 MM in thickness, and are designed to withstand maximum working pressures ranging from 6-10 Mpa.
Jackets are constructed from a range of metals including soft iron, low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel, copper, aluminium, brass, titanium, monel, and more, catering to diverse industrial requirements.
Filler options include expanded graphite, ceramic, and PTFE, providing exceptional flexibility and performance in various challenging conditions.
The thickness of the gaskets adheres to precise tolerances of (+0.03 inch, -0.000 inch) and (+0.8mm, -0.0mm), ensuring consistency and reliability.
(1). For gaskets ranging from NPS 1/2 to NPS 24, the outside and inside diameter tolerances are maintained at +0.06 inch, -0.0 inch (+1.5mm, -0.0mm);
(2). Note: Class 400 flanges are not available for NPS 1/2 through NPS 3. Use Class 600 instead;
(3). There are no Class 600 flanges available for NPS 1/2 through NPS 2-1/2. Class 1500 should be used instead;
(4). Class 2500 is not available for NPS 14 and larger sizes.
