Remarkably, it includes an inserted inner ring that significantly elevates gasket performance while an external guide ring flawlessly aligns the gasket on the flange face with precision. The strategic addition of the inner ring is crucial, as it prevents any risk of the gasket collapsing into the pipe during installation. Furthermore, it safeguards the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh mediums. By filling the void between flanges, it effectively prevents flange erosion and remarkably reduces potential failure. Typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring is a staple of the DIN 2699 standard (German), mandating inner rings across all spiral wound gaskets.
