This spiral wound gasket boasts a robust design with a solid outer and inner ring, meticulously crafted for superior performance. An inner ring is strategically inserted to elevate the gasket's efficiency, ensuring it remains steadfast during installation by preventing implosion into the pipe. This enhancement serves to shield the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh media, adeptly fills voids between flanges to avert erosion, and significantly diminishes the risk of failure. Typically fashioned from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the stringent DIN 2699 (German) standard, mandating its presence in all spiral wound gaskets. Furthermore, ASME B16.20 standards necessitate inner rings for gaskets with PTFE fillers, while they are deemed crucial for graphite fillers too. This unique profile is ideally suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges, offering enhanced reliability. The external guide ring not only provides extra radial strength to thwart gasket blowout but also functions as a precise compression stop.
