Features:

This spiral wound gasket boasts a robust construction with both solid outer and inner rings. However, an inner ring has been expertly incorporated to significantly enhance gasket performance. This serves to accurately center the gasket on the flange face, preventing implosion into the pipe during installation, and offering protection against extreme temperatures and aggressive mediums. Furthermore, the inner ring fills the void between flanges, mitigating flange erosion and reducing the risk of failure. Typically, the inner ring is crafted from the same alloy as the winding. Adhering to the DIN 2699 German standard, inner rings are mandated in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, inner rings are essential per ASME B16.20 standards, and are highly recommended for graphite fillers. This design is predominantly employed in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring provides additional radial strength to prevent gasket blowout and acts as a compression stop. Often made of carbon steel (painted or zinc plated to prevent corrosion), the outer ring can also be fabricated from alloys for applications involving higher temperatures and more severe mediums.
