Engineered to perfection, it incorporates an inner ring to significantly elevate gasket performance, and an external guide ring precisely centers the gasket on the flange face. The inner ring is meticulously designed to prevent the gasket from collapsing into the pipe during installation, safeguard the sealing element against extreme temperatures and harsh mediums, and effectively fill the void between flanges to avert flange erosion, while minimizing the risk of failure. Typically crafted from the same high-quality alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the DIN 2699 standard (German), mandating its inclusion in all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, the ASME B16.20 standards necessitate the integration of inner rings, deemed crucial for graphite fillers as well. This sophisticated profile is typically employed in raised and flat-faced flanges.
