The inclusion of an innovative inner ring not only enhances gasket integrity but also ensures flawless alignment on flange faces through an external guide ring. This advanced inner ring design prevents gasket implosion into pipes during installation, shields the sealing element from extreme operational environments, bridges flange voids to counteract erosion, and significantly mitigates failure risks. Crafted typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring aligns with the DIN 2699 standard, mandating its presence in all spiral wound gaskets. Adhering to ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are crucial for PTFE fillers and highly recommended for graphite fillers. Perfectly suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges, our gaskets also feature an external ring that endows additional radial strength, guarding against blowouts and doubling as a compression stop. Generally made from corrosion-resistant painted or zinc-plated carbon steel, the outer ring can also be customized with alloys for high-temperature and severe medium applications.
