For superior performance, an inner ring has been strategically inserted to enhance the gasket's functionality and an external guide ring that precisely centers the gasket on the flange face. This inner ring not only prevents the gasket from imploding during installation but also safeguards it against extreme temperatures and harsh media. It fills the voids between flanges, preventing flange erosion, and significantly reduces the risk of gasket failure. Typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the stringent DIN 2699 German standards and is essential for gaskets with PTFE and graphite fillers as per ASME B16.20 standards. This design is ideally suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges. The external ring provides additional radial strength to prevent blowout and acts as a compression stop.
