Moreover, it significantly reduces failure risks. Typically crafted from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the stringent DIN 2699 standard and is mandatory for gaskets with PTFE filler as per ASME B16.20 standards, while being essential for graphite fillers as well. This profile excels in both raised and flat-faced flanges. The presence of an external ring enhances radial strength to avert blowouts and serves as a compression limiter. Generally made of carbon steel with anti-corrosion coatings, it can also be manufactured from specialized alloys for exceptional temperature resistance and demanding medium applications.
