Our premium spiral wound gasket is designed with a robust outer and inner ring for enhanced performance. The inner ring is strategically inserted to prevent gasket imploding into the pipe during installation, safeguarding the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh mediums. It also fills the void between flanges, preventing erosion and reducing the chance of failure. Typically made from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring adheres to the stringent DIN 2699 (German) and ASME B16.20 standards, crucial for both PTFE and graphite fillers. This gasket profile is perfectly suited for both raised and flat-faced flanges, providing additional radial strength to avert blowouts. The outer ring, usually crafted from carbon steel and either painted or zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, can also be made from high-performance alloys to withstand higher temperatures and more severe conditions.
