An additional inner ring is seamlessly integrated to dramatically enhance gasket performance. This innovative component ensures the gasket is perfectly centered on the flange face, offering unparalleled stability. It mitigates the risk of gasket implosion into the pipe during installation and shields the sealing element from extreme conditions. Moreover, it effectively fills the flange gap to thwart erosion and minimize failure risks. Adhering to the strict DIN 2699 standards, the inner ring is typically forged from the same alloy as the winding. Essential for gaskets with PTFE fillers as per ASME B16.20, it is also crucial for graphite fillers. This profile excels in raised and flat-faced flanges. The robust external ring, often molded from carbon steel and optionally painted or zinc-plated to resist corrosion, provides essential radial strength to avert blowout, acting as a reliable compression stop.
