SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
DESCRIPTION:
Product Type:XINSEN-SD
Features:
This spiral wound gasket features a robust outer and inner ring design. Additionally, an inner ring has been incorporated to significantly enhance gasket performance. The external guide ring ensures precise centering of the gasket on the flange face. This inner ring prevents the gasket from collapsing into the pipe during installation, shields the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh mediums, fills the void between flanges to prevent erosion, and minimizes the risk of failure. Typically, the inner ring is crafted from the same alloy as the winding. According to the German DIN 2699 standard, inner rings are mandatory for all spiral wound gaskets. For gaskets with PTFE filler, inner rings are required as per ASME B16.20 standards, and are deemed crucial for graphite fillers. This profile is most commonly used with raised and flat faced flanges. The external ring provides additional radial strength to prevent gasket blowout and functions as a compression limiter. Often made from painted or zinc-plated carbon steel to prevent corrosion, the outer ring can also be manufactured from alloys for high-temperature and more severe medium applications.
