Crafted typically from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with the German DIN 2699 standard, which mandates inner rings for all spiral wound gaskets. According to ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are essential for gaskets with PTFE filler and are highly recommended for those with graphite fillers. Tailored for use with raised and flat-faced flanges, this profile's external ring imbues additional radial strength to thwart gasket blowout while functioning as a compression stop.
