SPIRAL WOUND GASKET
DESCRIPTION:
Product Type:XINSEN-SD
Features:
This spiral wound gasket boasts a robust outer and inner ring design, with an additional inner ring to bolster performance. The inner ring ensures precise centering on the flange face, safeguards against extreme temperatures and mediums, and prevents potential gasket implosion during installation. It also fills voids between flanges to prevent erosion and reduces the risk of failure. Typically made from the same alloy as the winding material, the inner ring complies with DIN 2699 standards, which require inner rings for all spiral wound gaskets. According to ASME B16.20 standards, an inner ring is necessary for PTFE fillers and important for graphite fillers. This gasket profile is commonly used in raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring enhances radial strength, acts as a compression stop, and prevents blowout. It is generally made of carbon steel (painted or zinc-plated for corrosion resistance) but can be crafted from alloys for high-temperature and severe medium applications.
