By filling the void between flanges, it prevents flange erosion and significantly reduces the likelihood of gasket failure. Crafted typically from the same premium alloy as the winding, the inner ring is compliant with the stringent DIN 2699 German standards and is essential for gaskets with PTFE filler as per ASME B16.20. Its importance extends to graphite fillers as well. This versatile profile is ideally suited for both raised and flat faced flanges.
