The meticulously crafted inner ring significantly amplifies gasket efficiency, serving as a safeguard against potential gasket implosion during setup and shielding the sealing element from extreme temperatures and harsh mediums. It fills the void between flanges to prevent flange erosion, thereby reducing the risk of failure. Constructed to meet the stringent DIN 2699 standards, the inner ring is an essential component for gaskets with PTFE fillers as per ASME B16.20 standards, and is equally crucial for graphite fillers. Suitable for both raised and flat faced flanges, this design features an external guide ring that precisely aligns the gasket on the flange face, offering additional radial strength to avert gasket blowout and functioning as a reliable compression stop. The outer ring, typically made from carbon steel and treated with paint or zinc plating to resist corrosion, can also be made from alloys to cater to higher temperature and more demanding medium applications.
