Features:
This spiral wound gasket is expertly crafted with a robust solid outer and inner ring design. An inner ring is meticulously inserted to significantly elevate gasket performance while an external guide ring ensures precise centering on the flange face. The inclusion of the inner ring is a strategic enhancement to prevent implosion during installation, shield the sealing element from extreme environmental conditions, fill flange voids to prevent erosion, and substantially reduce failure risks. The inner ring, typically of the same alloy as the winding, adheres to the DIN 2699 standard, mandating inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. This is crucial for gaskets with PTFE filler as per ASME B16.20 standards and holds significant importance for graphite fillers as well. This versatile profile is ideal for both raised and flat-faced flanges. The external guide ring not only fortifies radial strength to avert blowout but also serves as a compression stop. Although the outer ring is commonly crafted from carbon steel and treated to resist corrosion, it can also be fabricated from alloys for higher temperature and challenging medium applications.
