Typically fashioned from the same alloy as the winding, the inner ring complies with the German DIN 2699 standard, mandating its use in all spiral wound gaskets. In accordance with ASME B16.20 standards, inner rings are indispensable for gaskets with PTFE fillers and highly recommended for graphite fillers.
